Summit Prayer

Prayer comes First. And Second. And Third.

40 Days of Prayer

Sep. 1 - Oct. 11

We’ve been instructed to ask. We’ve been invited to seek. And we are encouraged to knock.

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you” (Matthew 7:7 NIV).

You’ve heard it before: “[You] have not, because [you] ask not” (James 4:2b KJV). What a tragedy if we miss what God wants to give and do, simply because we fail to ask.

Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you. For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. (Romans 12:1–5 NIV)

Romans 12:1–5 NIV

God reveals himself and his will to us, calling us to faith by his Word, so we seek to be a people who prioritize and proclaim the Word of God.

  • Just ask God to speak to you, revealing himself and his will to you as you spend time in his Word.
  • Pray that our kids and students would learn to trust the character of God and walk in his ways as they are taught in the Bible.
  • Ask God to give us more opportunities and greater resources as we seek to make him known, declaring his glory among the nations.
